We are the data controller and will process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and national laws which relate to the processing of personal data.
Information we may collect from you:
We may collect and process the following information about you:
Basic account information, including, for example: your name, email address, date of birth, password (which is encrypted, and cannot be seen or accessed by us), and a profile picture that you may choose to upload.
This information is collected to keep your account secure, and to give you, and other users, a better experience using our Services.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
When you visit the Services, a cookie will be stored on your computer. Generally, cookies and similar technologies work by assigning to your browser or device a unique number that has no meaning outside of snoww. snoww uses these technologies to personalise your experience and to assist in delivering content specific to your interests. Additionally, after you’ve signed up to, or logged into your account on our Services, snoww saves that information so you don’t have to re-enter it repeatedly during that session.
How your information is used
To generate activities: When you start recording an activity on snoww, we use your location data to process in-depth analysis of your skiing/snowboarding statistics. This includes details of your nearest ski resort, the mapping of your activity, an elevation graph of your day, details of your downhill distance skied/snowboarded, vertical descent, details of speed, downhill time spent skiing/snowboarding, calories burned, and number of runs, with details of each run.
As we are constantly improving our activity tracking algorithms, we may reprocess some activities to improve their accuracy. We also have the right to trim activities, or delete them completely, and will do this if we deem them to be inappropriate. Inappropriate activities include activities that we judge to have been recorded while in a vehicle, or away from a ski resort.
Our algorithms may also detect any activity that is deemed to have been recorded away from a ski resort, and we will exclude this data from activities. This is to ensure that the data we collect is as relevant as possible, and also to protect our users from sharing location data that they did not intend to upload.
How your information is shared
Snoww is a social network, and some of your information and content will be shared publicly on snoww for other users to see. Much of this is subject to your privacy settings, which we make as clear as possible, and give you as much control as possible. We encourage you to manage your privacy settings in accordance with your preferences.
There are certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data and other information with certain third parties without further notice to you, including as set forth below:
